Testimonials
having attended a demo at Goswick GC and seen EnviroBunker on their 9th hole we immediately suspended our bunker renovation program and commissioned its build on the golf course. The results have been fantastic and even our harshest critics are have agreed that it’s the best bunker on the course.
We have since built further bunkers under licence and are committed to a major re-construction program using EnviroBunker, up to and Beyond 2014. EnviroBunker has been met with high praise from all concerned and Envirosports Ltd should be congratulated on their productJim Cockburn Hon Treasurer, Seaton Carew GC
This is a brilliant idea, very innovative, and I was certainly more impressed than I expected to be on seeing the bunkers at Maesteg, they look fantastic! As a result we commissioned Enviro-Bunker at Pyle.
Our members have been really positive about the look and performance of the bunker and we have invited Envirosports to present Enviro-Bunker to the South Wales Links Forum in the New YearPaul Johnson, Head Greenkeeper at Pyle and Kenfig:
“We are very pleased with the performance of EnviroBunker so far. The bunker blends in very well, so much so that our members are not aware that it’s synthetic. We have a particular issue with our bunkers as we are on common land and have sheep, cows and horses on the course. They can cause significant damage to bunkers which is costly and time consuming to repair, EnviroBunker certainly seem to out perform grass in this respectPeter Rees, Chairman of Greens and former Club Champion at Clyne G.C.
I was sceptical about the concept and how it would look initially, but on seeing the results I am more impressed than I ever thought possible. This is a truly innovative idea, representing huge cost and labour savings. The bunker looks fantastic and performs equally well. You would never suspect that it was anything other than a standard revetted bunker. Some of the rebuilding work we carried out, using traditional construction methods, in winter/spring 2011 suffered with the dry weather, natural turfs that were laid to create bunker surrounds completely dried out and are now under attack from Rabbits and Sheep, in particular those facing S/SW.
Interestingly we built EnviroBunker at the same time to gain a like for like comparison. Envirobunker came through with flying colours. Out of all the bunkers that we built the EnviroBunker stood out head and shoulders above the rest. I have been hugely impressed with its performance and now the turf around it has settled it looks completely natural. We are now re-constructing all our bunkers using the EnviroBunker method and I would highly recommend it to any other Course Manager
Andrew Mannion Head Green-Keeper at Southerndown G.C.:
We have been delighted with the result of a bunker we rebuilt on our practice facility using the EnviroBunker method. It looks almost identical to the other bunkers both from a distance and when you are actually in it. After weeks of heavy play, it looks the same as the day it was completed and there has been no negative feedback from any golfers who have used it, partially because I feel they haven’t noticed the difference! As the neighbouring bunkers deteriorate over the next year we will be rebuilding them using the Envirobunker methodGordon Moir, Director of Green Keeping, St Andrews Links Trust:
Having seen the results of ‘Envirobunker’ on our 15th hole we are convinced that this is the way forward for bunkers on Royston Golf Course. It looks fantastic, in fact photos don’t nearly do it justice.
So impressed are we as a golf club with the results of the initial bunker that we will be constructing 2 more in the summer and plan to re-construct another 10 in the winter. Our long term plan is to get all 57 of our bunkers re built in this style. ‘EnviroBunker’ is the way forward for Royston Golf ClubIan Coote – Head Greenkeeper Royston G.C:
Sand Moor has had a long standing problem with rabbits damaging the edges of our bunkers. At the Harrogate BTME show we discovered that ‘EnviroBunker’ could be a solution to our problem and we were encouraged to explore the product.
We liked the idea of using recycled materials and the logic of the product/construction seemed sound. The Greens Committee thought that prevention of bunker erosion and less maintenance would be advantageous so we decided to go ahead. One of our problem bunkers has now been reconstructed using the ‘EnviroBunker’ team.
The service was excellent and the timings worked very well and it just took seven hours for the construction process. At the time of writing we are delighted with our new ‘EnviroBunker’Christine Hinchcliffe – Chair of Greens Sand Moor Golf Club:
The training provided was first class and definitely necessary for our staff. The Envirosports team took their time to ensure our staff developed their building skills and were able to produce some stunning looking bunkers at the same time. Everyone associated with the club is incredibly impressed with the bunkers and in our recent AGM many positive comments were received from the floor, the main thing being a desire to see all our bunkers re-built using EnviroBunker. We will be meeting to plan and budget for this in the very near future and it is our intention to begin a wider scale project this Autumn time, if not before.Murree Groom , Chair of Greens at Swaffam :
