A delightful moorland course, designed by Herbert Fowler. It has outstanding views across Dartmoor and over Cornwall and is a very natural course, with Dartmoor ponies and cattle sharing the fairways. The course has been host to many top quality competitions, including the Men’s Senior Amateur Championships in 2006.

Founded in 1874, it is one of the 50 oldest golf courses in the world and situated in the dunes just north of the mouth of the River Tees. With 18 holes designed by the legendary golf architect Dr Alistair Mckenzie and 4 more created by the renowned Frank Pennink, it has the ability to provide a supreme golfing challenge for players of all abilities.

During its 138 year history Seaton Carew has played host to a number of other prestigious national tournaments including the Carris Trophy in 1996 and the British Mid Amateur Championship in 2001. It will host the Brabazon trophy for the second time in 2014.

Envirosports Ltd were commissioned to build EnviroBunker on the signature 17th hole in November 2011. This work came about as a result of a demonstration hosted by Envirosports at Goswick GC where a number of representatives from Seaton Carew attended. The reaction of those who saw EnviroBunker for the first time was to immediately suspend all planned bunker renovation work for the remainder of the off season and to build EnviroBunker instead. Licence terms were agreed after the initial build and training and Seaton Carew have built numerous bunkers since that time. First stage works will see 6 bunkers re-built through January and February of 2012 and further bunkers thereafter.

Seaton Carew are committed to a long term project that will see all South facing bunkers re-constructed by 2014 and an on-going program beyond that point to re-construct all bunkers on the golf course over the coming years.

Long regarded as one of the finest courses in the world, Turnberry Links came to international prominence with the famous duel between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson over the four days of the 1977 Open. Scene of some of the most memorable moments in Open history, the Ailsa Championship course is a legend in the world game.

Envirosport Ltd were commissioned to re-construct a greenside bunker on hole number 9 at Goswick GC in October 2011. Training to local greenstaff was inegrated into the re-build and further bunkers have been built under licence since that time. The 12m2 bunker face on the 9th was completed in a day and has been met with wide spread approval from members, visitors and greenkeepers.

For this particular project Envirosports Ltd were able to use staff from St Andrews Links to help with the build and training. As a result of a demo day held at Goswick on completion of the work one club, Seaton Carew GC, have suspended all planned bunker work this off season and immediately comissioned the building of EnviroBunker on the golf course. A great testament to the work carried out at Goswick GC.

In July 2011 Envirosports were commissioned to re-construct a greenside bunker on the practice facilities of the Jubilee course at St Andrews Links.

Envirosports Ltd provided training in the handling and preparation of materials and worked with the St Andrews Links green staff to produce what was widely accepted to be a fantastic result. A small licence was purchased with the view to re-constructing other bunkers on the practice facilities.

Since that time many of the St Andrews Links management staff have continued to take a keen interest in the development of EnviroBunker and continue to have dialogue with our company regarding the benefits of the product. Gordon Moir, Greenkeeping manager of teh links trust helped Envirosports to organize a demo event after completion of the build at St Andrews. As a result of the demo event, Regional Open Championship Qualifying course Goswick (Berwick-Upon-Tweed), commissioned EnviroBunker on their golf course.

The R&A have also approved the use of EnviroBunker under the rules of golf. Mr Grant Moir, rules director at the R&A informed Envirosports that a local rule deeming EnviroBunker to be an integral part of the course would suffice in clearing the way for EnviroBunker to be used at Open qualifying courses, as well as all other golf courses.

We are proud of our association with St Andrews Links and hope to further develop the use of EnviroBunker at the home of golf.

Sand Moor G.C. is an 18 hole par 71 (SS71) championship golf course that was originally developed in the 1920′s with the assistance of the renowned Dr Alistair Mackenzie – later to design Augusta. Some of his trademark greens are still in evidence and bunkering form a fundmental part of the golf course both in terms of aesthetics and stratergy.

However Sand Moor G.C. has suffered with rabbit problems which has resulted in shorter lifespans for bunker faces and edges. ‘EnviroBunker’ has now been constructed at Sand Moor with fantastic results and has provided the golf club with a viable solution to the particular problems they suffer.

The story of Royston Golf Course is a magical one. Set out originally in 1869 by Lord Dunedin, and George Gossett, (son of the founder in 1864 of Westward Ho Golf Club) accolades for the course began as far back as 1892. It is situated on Royston Heath and is an SSSI site providing a rich and diverse habitat to plant life and wildlife alike.

Royston G.C. has a particular problem with burrowing rabbits that constantly undermine the appearance and damage the structure of their bunkers. Mr Ian Coote Head Greenkeeper contacted Envirosports having seen an article in Pitchcare Magazine and discussed the issues regarding the site with us. We felt very confident that ‘EnviroBunker’ would provide the perfect solution to these problems and so it has been proven.

In May 2011 Envirosports were commissioned to re-construct a greenside bunker on hole number 15 at Royston GC.

Such was the impression made by EnviroBunker that within just 3 months Royston GC had agreed licence terms with Envirosports Ltd to re-construct all 57 bunkers on the golf course.

This re-construction will be phased in over a 3 to 4 year period. EnviroBunker has provided a permanent solution to a major problem that has plagued Royston for decades and has transformed the appearance of the bunkering on the golf course.

Southerndown Golf Club, host to the prestigious ‘Duncan Putter’ is unique in offering part sandy links and part acid-heathland. Due to its terrain it is one of the driest courses to be found throughout the land. Top amateurs like Peter McEvoy and Gary Wolstenholme, world cup winners Stephen Dodd and Bradley Dredge, and the legendary Gene Sarazen have all graced it’s fairways.

In January 2011 Envirosports were commissioned to build ‘EnviroBunker’ at Southerndown G.C. following consultation with the course manager and Head Green Keeper.

Southerndown GC approached the project in a similar way to many courses we worked with during our first year. They trialled EnviroBunker first by re-constructing a practice bunker. This enabled the golf club to monitor the performance of EnviroBunker on highly used practice facility.

Having withstood sheep, rabbits, drying out effects of the sun and drought conditions in April / May of 2011, Southerndown commissioned EnviroBunker on the 4th hole of the golf course in the August of the same year. Envirosports sent a small team to work with the local greenstaff to re-construct a particularly problematic bunker which had suffered extreme damage due to burn off and burrowing animals.

Having seen the results on the golf course, Head Greenkeeper Andrew Mannion, urged the club to undertake wider re-construction program in Autumn 2011. Having consulted with the membership via a course forum, Southerndown GC agreed licence terms with Envirosports Ltd to re-build all 84 of their bunkers in November 2011.

This work is currently on-going and has already been met with universal approval amongst the membership. The transformation of the bunkers and the golf course in general is a testament to the performance of EnviroBunker.

• Envirobunker Install

The planning, designing and layout of Cyne G.C. were entrusted to Messrs H S Colt and Harries, the leading golf architects of the day. The original layout established all the important features and it is to the credit of the architects that the course has remained virtually unchanged to this day.

The course is laid out on the high ground of Clyne Common about three to four hundred feet above sea level. As a result of the golf course being built on common land there are inherent problems with sheep, horses, rabbits and even cows. Bunkering on the course has suffered immensely as a result, stampeding cows, burrowing rabbits and sheltering sheep all resulting in dramatic damage to bunker faces. EnviroBunker was commissioned as a possible solution to these issues in November 2010 and has come through with flying colours withstanding all forms of attack even a rampaging cow which damaged the area around the bunker but not the bunker itself.

Pyle and Kenfig Golf Course is a traditional links course established in 1922, affectionately known as ‘P & K’ with its lofty sand dunes hugging the South Wales coast of Porthcawl is situated in a wonderful stretch of golfing country. Glorious views and historic associations adorn this undulating course with its natural hazard of hillocks, valleys and towering dunes. Pyle and Kenfig G.C. has hosted the Welsh Amateur Championships on several occasions.

Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club similar to many other clubs have a rolling winter program of bunker re-construction works. Each winter the greenstaff re-build bunkers that have eroded or been damaged due to standard ware and tare. It was decided to trial ‘EnviroBunker’ as an alternative method that would put an end to many hours of maintenance and rebuilding on the golf course.
